The government of Somaliland and the European Union have signed a project in Berbera to develop the city of Berbera.

The Minister of Planning and National Development JS and the Ambassador of the European Union to Somaliland and Somalia signed a project in Berbera, the capital of Sahil region to develop the city of Berbera.

The event was opened by the Vice President of JS Mr. Abdirahman Ismail Saylici and was attended by members of the Council of Ministers, the Ambassador of the European Union, UNHABITAT, Sahil Regional Administration and other dignitaries.

The project will concentrate on the development and promotion of the beauty of the coastal town of Berbera
The project is being implemented in collaboration with the Berbera Municipality and UNHABITAT and will run for three years.

The inauguration ceremony was addressed by the Berbera district and regional administrations and they promised that they are ready to implement the project in the best possible way.
Director General of the Ministry of Planning and National Development, the details of the parts of the project will focus.

The Ministries of Planning and Interior also spoke at the event, emphasizing the government's commitment to Urban Development.
EU Ambassador to Somaliland / Somalia Niclas Berlenga Martinez and a senior member of UNHABITAT also spoke at the event.

Finally, the event was closed by the Vice President of Js Mr. Abdirahman Ismail Shire (Saylici).
